MOSCOW, Jun 10 (PRIME) -- Russia has not left behind all the consequences of the COVID-19 but the economy is recovering, President Vladimir Putin told Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov on Thursday.

"Unfortunately, not all consequences of the pandemic have been left behind, fight against the disease continues. Nevertheless, the economy is recovering, the producing sector of the economy is recovering," Putin said.

The president asked the minister to assess the industry situation.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting of the Industry and Trade Ministry that Russia managed to keep a slowdown in the economy within the moderate limits during the pandemic.

Mishustin added that more than 330 billion rubles will be spent on the import substitution projects until the end of the year. “I want to emphasize that the programs of import substitution remain the government’s priority," he said.
